THE RAMPANT WALL

The Rampant Wall is a traveling, participatory exhibition format.

Through an Open Call local sound creators are invited to add their own artifacts of sketching to the holdings of The Fleeting Archive and to participate in the installation of the exhibition. The arrangement of the individual sketches into a large-scale sprawling field follows the different approaches of the individual sound creators.

The installation of the exhibition becomes a collaborative, creative act. Assembled in this way the sketches form a topography of conscious and unconscious aesthetic action, a visualization of creative work in itself, detached from the question of authorship, a conglomeration of designs with utopian potential.

The first RAMPANT WALL event took place in HilbertRaum (Berlin) during the TOWARDS SOUIND Festival in March 2022. The exhibition was interlinked with concerts, lectures, talks and performances rendering the processuality of artistic practice tangible. A second RAMPANT WALL event followed at Limbó, The Living Art Museum’s project space in Reykjavik (March 22 - 26, 2023.).
